Prefab pools in Rafina and Pikermi
Rafina is known for its strong north winds, and they affect a pool more than you might think: the wind cools the water, increases evaporation and blows in leaves.
In Pikermi, with more greenery and larger plots, the main issue is shade from the trees.
What we watch for in Rafina and Pikermi
- Shelter from the wind: we place the pool on the sheltered side of the house or behind a hedge.
- Evaporation: with frequent wind, the water level drops faster. A cover at night reduces the loss of water and heat.
- Shade in Pikermi: the pool needs sun for at least half the hours of the day. We choose the position based on where the trees cast their shade in the afternoon.

Questions
Is the wind in Rafina a problem for the pool?
Not if it is taken into account in the design. With the right position, skimmer openings facing the direction of the wind and a cover, the pool stays clean and loses less water.
