Prefab pools in Lamia and Kamena Vourla
Lamia, the capital of Fthiotida, sits above the Spercheios valley, with hot summers and cold winters. Pools are built at detached houses on the edge of the city and in the surrounding villages.
On the coast, Kamena Vourla is a well-known spa town with thermal springs, with holiday homes and hotels on a narrow strip between the mountain and the sea.
What we watch for in Lamia and Kamena Vourla
- Narrow coastal strip: in Kamena Vourla many plots are on a slope above the sea. The pool sits on a levelled terrace, with its long side parallel to the slope, for less excavation.
- Easy entry into the water: in a spa town many visitors come for rest and gentle exercise. Steps with wide treads and a handrail make the pool accessible to all ages.
- From Agios Konstantinos to the Sporades: the port of Agios Konstantinos, next to Kamena Vourla, connects the area with Skiathos and the rest of the Sporades.
Transport and construction
Lamia lies right on the Athens–Thessaloniki motorway, so materials are transported by road from Athens.

2 mm galvanized steel panels, 1.10 or 1.50 m high, hot-dip galvanized support buttresses and a PVC liner with a 10-year written warranty. Available as a skimmer or overflow pool, and up to 50 m² with a small-scale works approval instead of a building permit. See the sizes.

Questions
Can the pool have steps with a handrail for older people?
Yes. Steps with wide treads and a handrail can be included from the design stage, and the options are discussed at the site survey. A non-slip surface on the steps also helps, such as SOPREMAPOOL membranes.
