Prefab pools in Kapandriti, Afidnes and Polydendri
Kapandriti, Afidnes and Polydendri lie in northeastern Attica, around Lake Marathon. It is an area of holiday homes and rural plots, where more and more families live year-round.
Plots are usually large, with room for a garden, animals and a pool, far from the dense building of the city.
What we watch for in Kapandriti, Afidnes and Polydendri
- Lake Marathon: the lake is a reservoir for Athens, and protection zones apply around it. The engineer checks which zone the plot is in before any work.
- Dogs and pets: steps with wide treads help an animal that has fallen into the water get out on its own. A floating cover cannot carry weight, so the pool also needs a fence.
- Next to the national road: the Athens–Lamia motorway runs past Afidnes, so the truck with the materials arrives from Kallithea the same day.

Questions
Can a pool be built on a plot near Lake Marathon?
It depends on the protection zone the plot is in and on its building terms. The engineer checks these before submitting the engineer's declaration, so you know from the start what is allowed.
