Prefab pools in Thassos
Thassos, across from Kavala, is a green island with pine forests and mountain villages. From Limenas and Skala Prinou to Limenaria, Potos and Golden Beach (Chrysi Ammoudia), the coast has holiday homes and rentals.
The island is also known for its white marble, quarried here for centuries.
What we watch for on Thassos
- A short crossing: the Keramoti–Limenas ferry takes less than an hour, and there is also a connection from Kavala to Prinos, so transporting materials is easy to organize.
- White marble around the pool: light-coloured marble heats up less in the sun than dark stone. For the paving around the pool, ask for a non-slip finish, not a polished one.
- Ring road: a road around the island links all the coastal villages, so the truck can reach almost everywhere. For mountain villages such as Theologos, we check access in advance.

Questions
What paving suits a pool on Thassos?
The local white marble is a good choice, because it stays cooler underfoot than dark stone. Ask for a non-slip surface so it is not slippery when wet.
