Prefab pools in Corfu
We built a prefab pool in Corfu in 2014. The island is one of the greenest in Greece, with olive groves, cypress trees and plenty of rain in winter.
The greenery is beautiful, but it means the position of the pool has to be chosen with care.
What we watch for in Corfu
- Winter rain: Corfu has some of the highest rainfall in the country. We slope the paving around the pool so the water drains away.
- Humidity in the plant room: it needs good ventilation, so moisture does not build up around the electrical equipment.
- Via Igoumenitsa: the materials arrive by ferry, and on the narrow village roads we use a smaller vehicle.

The prefab pool we build
2 mm galvanized steel panels, 1.10 or 1.50 m high, hot-dip galvanized support buttresses and a PVC liner with a 10-year written warranty. Available as a skimmer or overflow pool, and up to 50 m² with a small-scale works approval instead of a building permit. See the sizes.

Questions
What about the rainwater that falls into the pool?
A small rise in the water level is normal. With the right slope around the pool, runoff does not flow into it, and after heavy rain we check the pH and chlorine.
